How accurate is the breed identifier?
It recognizes the 118 breeds in the ImageNet dataset and is surprisingly good on clear photos of purebreds. Mixed-breed dogs will show several plausible matches — which is itself informative. For a definitive answer only a DNA test will do.
Is my dog's photo uploaded?
No. The classification model (Google EfficientNet-Lite, Apache-2.0) downloads into your browser and runs on your device. The photo never leaves your computer or phone.
What photos work best?
Sharp, well-lit, front-or-side view with the whole head visible. Avoid heavy filters, costumes and extreme angles.
My dog is a mix — what will I see?
Several breeds with percentages. Those are likelihoods among the model's guesses, not a DNA breakdown — but they usually point at the right families.
